THE MOST IMPORTANT AWARDS IN SPORTS WILL HONOR ALBERT PUJOLS AND OTHERS FROM ACROSS NORTH AMERICA WHO INSPIRE WITH EXTRAORDINARY CLASS, CHARACTER, AND SPORTSMANSHIP

ST. LOUIS – Nov. 16, 2022 – The world’s foremost event celebrating good sportsmanship, selflessness, and kindness in competition once again takes center stage in St. Louis as the Musial Awards return to Stifel Theatre on Saturday (Nov. 19). The national event celebrates the year’s greatest moments of sportsmanship and those in sports who exemplify class and character. Showtime is 6:15 p.m. A limited number of tickets are available through Ticketmaster as the show nears a sellout. The Musial Awards will air nationally as a one-hour special on CBS December 24 at 4 p.m. CT.

This year’s honorees include Albert Pujols, who is receiving the Stan Musial Lifetime Achievement Award, the highest award for sportsmanship. NFL All Pro Running Back Warrick Dunn will receive the Musial Award for Extraordinary Character. Other award winners include Little League Baseball standout Isaiah Jarvis; pro baseball player Brett Phillips and his biggest fan, 9-year-old Chloe Grimes; NHL fan and pre-med student from Seattle Nadia Popovici; Toronto Blue Jays fan Mike Lanzillotta; and a quintet of Mississippi high school powerlifters — Syrianna Jones, Demeria Moore, Jorja Roberson, Cara Robertson, and Jasmyn Stamper. Olympic speedskater Brittany Bowe is unable to attend the event Saturday night, but will be recognized during the show.

MUSIAL AWARDS TICKETS:

THE MUSIAL AWARDS ON CBS:
For the fourth year, the Musial Awards will be seen throughout the country on CBS. The network will air the Musial Awards as a one-hour special on December 24 at 4 p.m. CT, following NFL coverage (check local listings).  In partnership with the St. Louis Sports Commission and the National Sportsmanship Foundation, the broadcast is produced by Al Roker Entertainment, the production arm of 14-time Emmy award-winning TV personality Al Roker.

 

MORE ON THE MUSIALS:
The Musial Awards presented by Maryville University takes place annually on the Saturday before Thanksgiving at the historic 3,000-seat Stifel Theatre in Downtown St. Louis. The show is produced by the St. Louis Sports Commission and the National Sportsmanship Foundation, a charitable nonprofit organization. In addition to keeping Stan The Man’s legacy alive, the mission of the Musial Awards is to encourage kindness, selflessness, integrity and civility in sports and society – and to inspire people across the nation to be good sports. The event has occurred in St. Louis since 2005.
