Inspired by the life and legacy of the great Stan Musial, the St. Louis Sports Commission has created an innovative program to help schools and organizations foster kindness, character, and respect among young people. Thanks to a partnership between the Sports Commission and HEC Media’s Educate.Today, schools and groups throughout the St. Louis region and around the country can access the program remotely.
Musial Moments features a fun, free, interactive and impactful 45-minute presentation led by St. Louis Sports Foundation Director Solomon Alexander. A former teacher, experienced public speaker and authority on sportsmanship, Solomon encourages audience members to have fun, be good and play right. He motivates students to show kindness, integrity and selflessness, just as Stan The Man did during his illustrious career and life.
Musial Moments presentations are geared for young people in third grade through high school.
While in-person Musial Moments assemblies have been postponed due to the pandemic, Musial Moments moves forward and is available to schools and organizations online.
Solomon will lead groups through a virtual presentation with all the same sportsmanship and character development lessons and video that are part of an in-person assembly.

We all have all witnessed a “Musial Moment” – acts of kindness and selflessness that take place in competition or everyday life – and many of which go completely unnoticed and do not receive the attention and recognition they deserve. If you have seen a Musial Moment, or have one of your own you’d like to share, post it on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. Use #MusialMoment and tag @MusialAwards.#MusialMoment
